SCORE TO SETTLE? 7

Here's an insightful comment from one of our readers on the score to settle.

"I watched on the tele and wondered how much we paid for the broadcast rights? esp after all the hullabaloo...

"Centennial... what Centennial... I had no idea that we (T&T) were celebrating a hundred years of football... from the outset this game was seen as England looking for a vote. Even some of the players opting out of the match using the UEfA finals as an excuse... and Rio Ferdinand still came?

"England ran circles around the T&T team and its amazing that people thought we had a chance. Many of the guys in our team have INTERCOL as their highest level of play. I hope that coach Maturana got what he was looking for out of the players... it made no sense to play Yorke... how is this moving forward? listening to the English commentators it was clear that this wasnt even at the level of their own (England's) practice sessions... the untidy play (by England) in the second half is what resulted in T&T only conceding one more goal... Stern John continues to loaf and play on the wrong side of defender... we continue to have a team that plays no offense because the defense doesn't show up and then we have to endure Ruskin Mark (commenting) trying to take some positives out of a game where there weren't any for our team or country...

"this game was yet another in the long standing tradition of Caribbean Sport... "well they only scored three... and last week they beat the USA 2-0... we didn't do that bad!"
comments like these got Avram Grant (Chelsea's Manager) fired after coming second twice...
